Known Bugs or Other Problems with QMate
I believe honesty is a virtue and strive to be virtuous as often
as I can. With that said, I plan to keep this page updated with a
list of known bugs encountered so far. If you find a problem not
mentioned on this page please let me know.
QMate Open Bugs
- Using the Find feature when an app other than QMate is running
and navigating to a QMate transaction that is hidden (according to
settings specified in the Show... dialog) will result in a crash.
(will be fixed in the next major release of QMate)
QMate Closed Bugs
- Changing the debit/credit setting for a transfer transaction
doesn't properly update the account balance of the destination
account (the one in the category field) (will be fixed in
1.4.3)
- although the readme file states that
you can have up to 6-digit check numbers, due to a programming
error on my part, only numbers up to 32,767 are supported.
(fixed in 1.4.1)
- Some users have reported that the cursor does not move when
entering text in the Category and Payee fields in the New/Edit
Transaction Dialog. The result is backwards text. (Fixed in
1.3.1)
- Grafitti shift operator requires an extra upstroke before
properly capitalizing next letter (likewise, caps lock requires
three upstrokes) (Fixed in 1.3.1)
- Accounts and Transactions lists occasionally display incorrect
selection state and account type popup menu in Account Details
dialog doesn't draw correctly (both of these drawing problems were
only present on PalmPilots) (Fixed in 1.2.4)
- Entering a ':' in the category field without any categories
imported results in a soft reset. (Fixed in 1.2.2)
- System Find feature causes a soft reset when initiated while
any app besides QMate is running. (Fixed in 1.2.1)
- Page up/down button feature on New Transaction dialog can
cause bogus changes to your transactions database. (Temporarily
disabled, will be reinstituted when it's fixed - hopefully
soon)
- deleting accounts in QMate can lead to a corrupt transaction
database. This is admittedly the worst bug yet to be found in
QMate. (Fixed in 1.2)
- transaction amounts less than 1.00 (0.01 to 0.99) do not
properly update account balances. (Fixed in 1.1)
QSync Closed Bugs
- Quicken SE (the freebie version) is not able to handle QIF
files generated by QSync (Fixed in 1.2.4).
- QSync doesn't run under HotSync 2.0. (Fixed in
1.2).
- dates with spaces in them are not imported into QMate
correctly. (Fixed in 1.2)
- several people have reported that QSync does not work with
IntelliSync because QSync requires HotSync Manager 1.1 (a Palm
Computing product to answer several other respondents' question).
(Deferred: QSync requires HotSync 1.1 or 2.0).
- QSync doesn't work with the latest version of HotSync 1.1.
(Fixed in 1.1)
- if you have transactions in QMate that have been synced, any
new transactions added will sync properly (get written to a .QIF
file) but will not be marked synced on the Pilot. (Fixed in
1.1)
