QMate is designed to be a companion application for Quicken or Microsoft Money. It offers simple, time-saving techniques for entering data at the point of sale and synchronizing that data with Quicken or Money. The data you enter in QMate is the same you would enter in your Quicken or Money register. The other sections in this user's guide will show you how to install QMate and take advantage of its many features.

QMate also comes with a desktop component for either Windows or Macintosh computers. The Windows desktop software consists of a setup program and a conduit that run automatically when you HotSync your Palm handheld. The Macintosh desktop software is a separate application you run after a HotSync that handles the same tasks as the Windows conduit. The synchronization process is described in the synchronization section of this user's guide.
